In 2018, I moved to San Antonio, Texas, where I opened a studio and the ceramic area at the 10bit MakerSpace, creating a community of ceramic enthusiasts.

In 2022, I opened the Carmela Muguerza Ceramist Studio, where I teach classes and focus my ceramic creations on two approaches: the whimsical and the magical.

Recognized for my artistic contribution with two grants from the city of San Antonio, I continue to inspire through my work and teaching. Currently, I am dedicated to projects that foster dialogue about identity, diversity, and acceptance through ceramic art.

You can find my creations at Pearl Market and online Instagram @Carmela _Muguerza.

I am a ceramist originally from Argentina, now based in San Antonio, I have  two decades of experience. As a passionate artist and educator, my journey has taken me through various cultures and landscapes, enriching both my craft and teaching. My training as a 'Profesora Superior en Cerámica' in Argentina laid the foundations for my career, which has been marked by creative exploration and a deep understanding of the material.

In 2000, I moved to Mexico. Immersed in the rich cultural heritage of Mexican ceramics, I collaborated with local artisans and absorbed traditional techniques, merging my previous academic knowledge with an ancestral and magical vision of ceramics. I coordinated the 'Maestros del Barro' project in collaboration with the government of Zapopan, Jalisco, promoting ancient ceramic techniques and bringing them closer to the community. I ran studios in Guadalajara, Oaxaca, and Taxco, teaching ceramics and Raku, and executing customized projects. I also coordinated the "Quetzalcóatl, energia etérea" mural at Centro Cultural las Águilas and commissions for the Guadalajara Aquarium and a Buddhist temple.
